Grocery services:

Grocery stores provide produce, meat, bakery, and pharmacies (in select locations). The following is a list of grocery stores in the area. Sobeys has the most locations.

Farms:

To buy fresh and local produce you can shop at local farms and the Farmer's Markets. The services of some of these places are seasonal - check the hours before going.

Eating out:

There are chain restaurants, as well as, many small locally owned restaurants and cafes. Food options include Chinese, fast-food, Italian, pub & bar food, seafood, etc.

Organizations in Antigonish and Pictou offer programs about healthy eating and nutrition. Visit the following to find classes and registration information.

Food Banks:

Feed Nova Scotia provides information about food banks and a list of food banks for different areas of Nova Scotia. First time visitors need to bring a health card (and health cards of anyone else in your household) and proof of current address. How often you can visit and how much food you receive depends on the food bank.
