Join us this summer as public libraries with the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library gear up for their Summer Reading and Learning Challenges, in partnership with the 2019 TD Summer Reading Club!
After signing up with your preferred library, take part in reading and learning challenges and track your progress in your logbook. Complete the challenges and be eligible to win prizes that you can pick up at your local library. You can also enter in the grand prize draw of a bicycle, generously donated by the Adopt-a-Library literacy program.
Teens can check out the Teen Summer Reading Challenge! (details below)
Read and do fun activities all summer long!
Each time you read for 20 minutes, mark off a shape. Every 100 minutes you read means you can collect a small prize from the library.
When you’ve read for 300 minutes, you get a ballot for a prize draw. More ballots means more chances to win a grand prize bicycle!
Make sure you bring your booklets to the library to claim your prizes! Our challenge to you is to read for 1200 minutes this summer.
Complete adventures for more ballots! Finish 10 adventures to complete a ballot. (Two adventure ballots per person).
Want to keep reading and adventuring? Visit your local library branch or outreach site for more fun activities.
This summer, we have partnered with 4 other Nova Scotia library regions to see how long it takes for our readers to read one million minutes!
Once we get there, we’ll have a party. But we can’t have the Million Minutes Party without you, so start reading now!
Register at your local library and get your free Reading Card. For every 5 hours you read, you can enter a ballot to win some great prizes like:
Read the Rainbow socks, Harry Potter socks, a Fit Pack, an Inspired & Organized Pack, or a St.FX Sports Fan Pack
