I have included in this article a short chapter on Fort Francklin, built in 1768 on Blockhouse Point. Its story is brief for it was abandoned in the Fall of that year. Between the going of the French and its building there thus elapsed thirteen years and so its story does not properly belong to that of the Acadian days at Tatamagouche. But in tradition it has been otherwise and so what little there is to know of it, I have thought fit to include in this publication.

I append a list of the most important sources of my information.
