About this Project The American Lobster digitization project is a partnership of communities and public agencies. The idea for the project originated with the River John Community Access Program (CAP) Committee as a way of illustrating the link between technology and community economic development. It is hoped that this site will bring attention to a valuable part of River John's economy while at the same time ensuring that young and old alike see local content on the World Wide Web. The research and writing was carried out by Kate Romanowsky, a university student, during June, July, and August, 2000 in River John. Ms. Romanowsky was employed through grants from Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions (Canadian Library Association) and Industry Canada's Community Access Program. The material was then digitized by Jolene Shaw, Technology Trainer, with Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library. The site is maintained on the Regional Library web server.
