The War Cenotaph project was created in September of 2000 and was sponsored by Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library and LibraryNet. The Web site was created by Jolene Shaw and Fern MacDonald.

The information found on this site is from a collection of scrapbooks that was donated to the Library. These scrapbooks consist of miscellaneous clippings taken from the newspaper during the Second World War. After taking digital pictures of cenotaphs in the area and listing the names found on them, clippings from the scrapbooks were linked to the cenotaph names. Veteran names that were found in the clippings but did not appear on the cenotaphs, as of September 2000, were listed on a separate page. This is not a comprehensive list of all those who served but only a list of those whose names appeared in our newspaper collection.
